The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect from 1 PM Monday to 9 PM CDT Tuesday. * Heat Index Values...Up to 105-110 due to high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s on Monday and the upper 90s to near 100 again on Tuesday...with dewpoints in the 70s. * Timing...Monday and Tuesday in the afternoon through early evening. * Impacts...The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible. In addition, temperatures can turn deadly in vehicles left unattended with no air conditioning.
